Sir(s), Ma’am’s, et al,

Please note the following message from Lt Cdr Clough to assist with the security of your SSFA/SSLA over the festive period.

For the greater awareness of the UK Community.

If you are returning to the UK for the festive season, or even part of it, then the security of your home in your absence is, of course, a primary concern.

In addition to you taking the self-help, common sense approach and more obvious precautions the host nation also offers a facility whereby members of the local security services will perform a regular visit and external check of your property.  Simply ask the KMAR in building 100 near the Akerstraat gate, complete the required form and they will take care of the rest.

This service costs nothing and provides you with extra peace of mind, they even deposit a ‘proof of visit’ form through your letterbox after every visit.

Kind regards,

Tesco delivers to British Forces Post Office (BFPO) Addresses

If you've got family serving in the armed forces overseas, you'll want an easy and reliable way to send them gifts.
With effect from 17th October, Tesco direct is partnering with the British Forces Post Office (BFPO) to help you do just that.
When you order gifts from Tesco direct, you can arrange for them to be sent to a BFPO address overseas for exactly the same cost as for a standard home delivery within the UK.

We'll deliver your items to BFPO HQ. From there, they'll be sent to the chosen BFPO address overseas for no extra cost.

To find out how to place, track and manage your BFPO orders, visit the Tesco direct BFPO page.

So, remember to make Tesco direct your first port of call when you're looking for gifts to send your loved ones overseas this Christmas and Armistice Day.

BFPO Shadow Postcodes

Problems with companies sending to BFPO

Are you aware of BFPO Shadow postcodes?

In 2012, in collaboration with Royal Mail, the BFPO introduced UK-style postcodes, to help ordering items online, owing to problems with websites not recognising the BFPO addressing format. The addresses are assigned to the notional post town  "BFPO" and, as of 2012, the postcodes all begin with "BF1".

Due to the automated sorting process at BFPO these UK style postcodes should not appear on items of mail and they are solely for use within websites. For example, the above address would appear as:

12345678 LCPL B Jones

B Company

1 Loamshire Regt

If you are struggling having an item posted out via the BFPO service, try using our Shadow postcode BF1 2AH. A full list of Shadow postcodes can be found here.
