FAB Camps - Families Activity Breaks

Families' Activity Breaks (FAB) is a non-public funded, tri Service charitable initiative, providing fun and challenging activity camps around the UK for bereaved Military families.
Families' Activity Breaks

If your child is aged up to 19 years old and has suffered the loss of a loved one who was serving in the Armed Forces, then you may be eligible for a FAB camp. The holidays offer an adventure for all the family and a welcome break to meet and socialise with others who have experienced a similar loss. A loved one can mean a parent, a step parent, or a child's legal guardian, carer or sibling.

BFPO - General Election Update

BFPO - General Election Update:

·         8 May 17 – Latest recommended date to register for Postal Voting or change of registration details.
·         11 May 17 – Earliest date ballot papers can be despatched worldwide.
·         16 May 17 – Target date for ballot papers to be delivered to individuals.
·         24 May 17 – Latest recommended date for posting ballot papers (Royal Mail Special Delivery) to DMC Northolt.
·         6 Jun 17 – All ballot papers must be received (am) at DMC Northolt. (Assumption that Special Delivery will be funded – If not this date will slip to the left)
·         8 Jun 17 – Polling day.

Process window of opportunity is from 11th May – 6 Jun 17, which only represents 16 working days (2 BH in period of 18 working days) to achieve E2E.

This will be challenging in most locations and proxy voting is the only guarantee of getting your voice heard.

The main areas of concern are those locations without PCS support (Limited Service) as they generally don’t have a return mail service.  In addition some areas are simply beyond our gift to assist due to their location or the method of their delivery service which can take 2 or 3 weeks one way. (eg Africa, Americas, BIOT, Sinai & locations serviced by FCO (5000 series))

BFPO has made an early contact with our election contacts in main building and are on wait out for release of DIN from MOD which will confirm dates above.  Additionally BFPO has asked for central funding from the Cabinet Office for Special Delivery return option, which they funded last time.
