'After a review of the current arrangements and also after seeking further guidance we are pleased to confirm that with effect  from 13th July 17 HQ BFGHS have instructed SSAFA/ LLP to re-introduce (at your local Medical Centre) the previous service and offer non-duty travel medicines/vaccinations'.

REVISED ARRANGEMENTS

Travel Vaccinations and what to expect

from your BFG medical facility

In Mar 2017 HQ BFGHS announced that In accordance with national and Service policy that there would no longer be an entitlement for non-duty travel medicine (less a number of vaccines that the NHS does provide) to be administered at Medical Centres in BFG/SHAPE. This applied equally to Service personnel and Civilians. Patients were further advised to attend a UK or HN travel clinic for assistance/vaccinations, this at their own personal expense.

After a review of the current arrangements and also after seeking further guidance we are pleased to confirm that with effect  from 13th July 17 HQ BFGHS have instructed SSAFA/ LLP to re-introduce (at your local Medical Centre) the previous service and offer non-duty travel medicines/vaccinations. Therefore there is no longer a need to visit a Host Nation (HN) travel clinic.

The current DIN (Health Service Provision for MOD Entitled Personnel in British Forces Germany (BFG) BFG DIN 2017DIN01-022 para 41) will be amended in due course.
