It is time for Brussels to celebrate everybody's favourite absent-minded oddball.
He will be the mascot for the 8th edition of the Brussels Comic Strip Festival which takes place from 1 to 3 September 2017. He will be honoured through various activities: a giant Gaston balloon unveiled during the Balloon Parade, several conferences and an exhibition. It's an event for comic book lovers.

This installation is the centre piece of this year's Documenta 14 exhibition in Kassel, which runs for 100 days and showcases contemporary art.
A life-size replica of the Parthenon made of 100,000 banned books donated by members of the public. It is comprised of 170 vintage and contemporary titles banned somewhere around the world.
The aim is to provoke debate around the subject of censorship. It is constructed at the site where German Nazis burned books by Jewish or Marxist writers in 1933.
The exhibit is open until 17th September 2017 and is open from 1000 - 2000hrs daily in Friedrichplatz in Kasell. An Adult day ticket is €20 and children are free under 10 years. Tickets can be purchased at the Documenta14 shops or online by Clicking Here
The Mundaneum in Mons likes to be known as the "paper Google" because of the graphs, statistics and charts on show within that highlight how research and learning was conducted before the inception of the internet.. The collections within the museum are based upon those of the 19th Century thinker Otlet who believed that information, rather than money, was the driving force of society.
