Launch of the 2023 MOD Education Support Fund (ESF)

Armed Forces Families & Safeguarding (AFFS) is delighted to announce that the 2023 MOD Education Support Fund (ESF) bidding round is now open.

The fund has £3 million to award, and applications can be accepted from state schools, free schools and academies in the UK with Service pupils on roll. Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of negative impact of mobility and/or separation and how the funding would help mitigate the effects.

The bidding round will remain open until Friday 30 September 2022. We kindly ask Service parents to share details of the ESF with their children's school.

For more details, please read the ESF application pack on Gov.uk.
For awareness:

In January 2022, the MOD published its 10-year strategy for improving support to armed forces families. As part of the MOD's efforts to support the implementation of this strategy, existing grant funding schemes designed to support Service children are being reviewed. The ESF in its current form is under review and applications may have to be submitted again through a new scheme.
